Wenatchee Wild News Release
WENATCHEE, Wash. - The Wenatchee Wild, proud members of the Western Hockey League (WHL), are pleased to announce that 2007-born defenseman Josh Toll has signed a Scholarship and Development Agreement with the organization. A native of Rosemount, Minnesota, Toll has played three years of varsity hockey for the Rosemount High School Irish, and recently finished his senior year with the team.
"Josh Toll is a very mobile defender," said Wild director of scouting Leigh Mendelson. "He plays both ends of the rink well, using his skating and puck skills on the breakout and at the offensive blue line, as well as joining the play without the puck. He defends very well using his feet and anticipation skills, intercepting passes and starting the offense. It is exciting to add another mobile defender for our coaching staff to work with and develop for the future."
Toll appeared in all 27 games for Rosemount this past season and piled up 13 goals and 36 assists, one point off the team lead. He closed out the year on a six-game point streak, and posted a pair of five-game point streaks during the season as well. In three years with the Irish, he skated in 81 varsity games, notching his 100 th career point in his final varsity game. His efforts this past season also earned him a nod as a Mr. Hockey finalist, as the top high school player in the state of Minnesota.
The future St. Thomas Tommie has experience at both ends of the ice, developing as a forward before shifting to defense during his sophomore year of high school. He also brings a pair of games' worth of junior experience into Wenatchee with him, playing briefly for the United States Hockey League's Tri-City Storm last season.
The Wenatchee Wild congratulate Josh Toll on signing his Scholarship & Development Agreement with the club, and proudly welcome him to the Wild family.
