ICE CHIPS: The KOOTENAY ICE enter the final week of the 2003-2004 regular season with a 31-27-7-3 record (18-12-3-1 at home, 13-15-4-2 on the road, 4-0-7-3 in overtime) and in fourth place in the BC DIVISION...The ICE are six points ahead of PRINCE GEORGE, two points back of KAMLOOPS and seven points behind VANCOUVER and have one game in hand on all three teams...KOOTENAY needs to record one point in any of their final four games to clinch their sixth consecutive playoff spot.
AWARDS NIGHT: When KOOTENAY hosts SPOKANE on Friday, March 12, the ICE will be presenting their team awards on-ice prior to the start of the game...The Awards Presentation will begin at 7:00 pm, with the game commencing immediately afterwards.
CASINO OF THE ROCKIES NIGHT: When the ICE host the VANCOUVER GIANTS on Sunday, March 14, CASINO OF THE ROCKIES will be the title sponsor...Fans in attendance at the game will have the opportunity to win some great prizes.
DID YOU KNOW: JEFF GLASS set a franchise record for shutouts in a single season after posting his fifth shutout of the season March 5 in MEDICINE HAT (26 saves)...The ICE have set a franchise record for shutouts in a single regular season with six (GLASS has five, TAYLOR DAKERS has one)...The 0-0 tie against the TIGERS was the first ever in KOOTENAY franchise history...DALE MAHOVSKY recorded his 100th career point March 3 in SWIFT CURRENT and played in his 200th career WHL game March 6 in LETHBRIDGE...NIGEL DAWES needs six goals to become the first player in franchise history to record 50 goals in a single regular season...ADAM TAYLOR, who has played in 248 career WHL games (including 213 consecutive games), moved into second place on the KOOTENAY all-time games played list when the ICE faced the BRONCOS (COLIN SINCLAIR is first with 325 career games played).
ONE YEAR AGO: After 68 games of the 2002-2003 season the ICE were 34-24-6-4, after 69 games 34-25-6-4 and after 70 games 35-25-6-4.
