Kelowna, Moose Jaw capture division titles

Calgary - The Western Hockey League announced today that for the second consecutive year, the Kelowna Rockets have captured the B.C. Division title. As well, the Moose Jaw Warriors have captured the East Division title for the first time in the team's 20-year history.

The Kelowna Rockets current regular season record is 45-20-4-0 for 94 points which is first overall in the WHL. The Rockets are only a win or tie away from capturing their second consecutive Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy as Regular Season Champions. The Rockets have three games remaining, versus the Chiefs in Spokane (March 10th) and a home and home series with the Vancouver Giants beginning in Vancouver (March 12th & 13th).

The Moose Jaw Warriors current regular season record is 40-20-8-1 for 89 points which is second in the WHL. The Warriors are the only team which a chance to catch Kelowna for the Regular Season title. It is Moose Jaw's first division title in the team's 20-year history. The Warriors best finish in the East Division was second in 2002-03 when their record was 36-22-11-3. The Warriors have three games remaining, a home and home series against the Regina Pats beginning in Regina (March 10th & 12th), and their final regular season game against the Raiders in Prince Albert on March 13th.
