Aberdeen Wings News Release
This weekend your Aberdeen Wings (17-21-9) play host to the Minnesota Magicians (19-23-6). On the season Aberdeen is 2-2-0 vs the Magicians, but the two teams haven't seen each other since the 10th of October. In a tight division every point counts and with 4 points on the line this weekend for two teams that are separated by 1 point, these are going to be games you don't want to miss.
Aberdeen will once again look to Peter Thome to be the foundation in goal. Thome is coming off a sweep of the Austin Bruins two weeks ago then a brilliant 2 loss performance last weekend in Bismarck in which he only allowed 3 goals in two games vs the division leading Bobcats. What Thome will be hoping to get in front of him is more offensive production. In the two games played in Bismarck the Wings were only able to get 1 goal off the stick of Kevin Fitzgerald. While it has been several months since the teams have met and there are a lot of new faces, it has been Colin Raver who has gotten the better of the Magicians scoring 3 goals in the 4 games played.
The Central Division is the only division in the NAHL to not have a team clinch a playoff spot yet. Only 18 points separate the first and last place teams in the division with the other 4 teams falling in. With a few wins and some luck from around the division the Wings could be back in the final playoff spot by Saturday night.
Friday night is a Spring Clearance Sale at the OIC Pro Shop! All Wings black Jerseys are $10 off! Saturday is jersey night! Wear any of your Aberdeen Wings Jerseys and receive $2 off admission at the door! Skate with the Wings after the game! Tickets available at the Wolf Stop and all 3 C-Express locations!
