Matchup: These two teams will be meeting for the fifth and sixth times this season. Sioux City and Waterloo split the first four meetings; the Musketeers rallied to win 4-3 at the Tyson Events Center on November 14 before skating to a 5-3 victory on December 12, the only meeting at Waterloo thus far. Meanwhile the Black Hawks have topped Sioux City twice on the road this season, winning 4-2 on November 13 and 4-3 on December 26.
About Waterloo: The Black Hawks enter the weekend sitting in seventh place in the Western Conference, six points behind the Musketeers with a game in hand. They are seeking to snap a three-game losing streak, during which they have been outscored 16-8 against Dubuque, Chicago and Omaha. Waterloo has scored 52 goals in their first 18 games of the season, tied for the third fewest in the USHL ahead of only Youngstown and Lincoln. Additionally, the Black Hawks have allowed 64 goals this year, second most in the conference only to Lincoln, while amassing 297 penalty minutes, fourth most in the USHL.
