AlbANY CONQUEST (5-7) AT GREEN BAY BLIZZARD (6-6)

FRIDAY, JULY 6, 2007 - The Resch Center (7,995) 8:30 P.M. ET

The Green Bay Blizzard host the Albany Conquest in the lone Friday night feature of Week 15. The Blizzard, currently tied for second in the Midwest Division and ranked No. 15 in the latest Coaches Poll, are coming off a 61-33 loss at division rival Quad City. The Steamwheelers outscored Green Bay 27-7 in the fourth quarter to break open what was once a close contest. For the Blizzard, it was their sixth straight loss in as many chances away from home. This week, however, Green Bay returns to the Resch Center where the squad is a perfect 6-0 in 2007. QB GINO GUIDUGLI led the Blizzard last week with 276 yards passing and four touchdowns without an interception. WR NATHAN HARDWICK had a game-high 120 yards receiving on seven catches with two touchdowns. The defense was led by Donnie Amadi, who finished with 8.0 tackles, while his brother Ronnie amadi and Stephen Cason each registered 7.0 stops. Green Bay's calling card is its defense, which ranks third overall in points per game allowed at 37.4. Cason leads the group in tackles with 71.5 to go along with four interceptions. Ronnie Amadi leads the team in interceptions with six and leads the league in passes defended with 36. The Blizzard offense, however, isn't such a strong suit. The group averages just 36.0 points per contest. The Conquest enter Week 15 after defeating Louisville, 53-44, at home last Saturday night. Highly-ranked rookie QB RYAN HART completed 19-of-34 passes for 204 yards and five touchdowns. Hart ranks No. 4 in the af2 in pass efficiency and has helped the squad to a No. 7 ranking in total offense. WR BAKARI BROWN connected with Hart 10 times for 112 yards and two touchdowns last week. Brown leads the league in receptions with 122 and has 23 TD receptions so far in 2007. Hart also got some help from WRs CHRIS CURD (5-60; 2 TD) and ANTWUN WILLIAMS (2-20; 0 TDs) against the Fire. Both wideouts are highly skilled and have played a big part in the Albany offensive attack this year. DB ATCHESON CONWAY led the Conquest's defensive effort with 10 total tackles. DB CALVIN WASHINGTON also had a strong game defensively with 9.0 tackles. Conway leads the Conquest in tackles (62) and passes defended (11). Both teams are fighting to keep pace in the American Conference playoff race, so expect both teams to be fired up for a good game. Last time the Conquest and Blizzard met on April 21, Albany played one of its best games of the year and handled Green Bay, 75-27. This time out, however, the Blizzard will not allow a similar result, especially at home.
