Huntsville Havoc News Release
The Huntsville Havoc came away with three points on the three-game road trip this past weekend. They dropped a 5-2 decision to Columbus on Thursday, fell 4-3 in overtime in Jacksonville on Friday and rebounded with a 7-4 win over Pee Dee on Saturday.
Thursday, February 22 - Huntsville 2, Columbus 5
COLUMBUS, Ga. - Travis Kauffeldt scored two goals for the Huntsville Havoc but it wasn't enough as the Columbus Cottonmouths scored three goals in the final period for a 5-2 win Thursday night.
Kauffeldt gave the Havoc an early 1-0 lead on a first period powerplay goal.
Columbus would tie the game in the second period on a powerplay goal by Lorne Misita. Kauffeldt then gave the Havoc the lead again with 5:17 left in the period. The Cottonmouths tied the game at 2-2 24 seconds later when Tylor Keller scored.
Matt Ponto, Orrin Hergott and Keller all scored in the final period.
Friday, February 23 - Huntsville 3, Jacksonville 4, OT
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville Barracudas scored a short-handed goal with 1:36 left in overtime giving them a 4-3 win over the Huntsville Havoc Friday night.
Dan Pszenyczny, Tristan Senior and Travis Kauffeldt scored goals for the Havoc.
Ryan Webb, Andrew Morris and Pat Doherty had goals during regulation for the Barracudas. Jim Murphy scored the game-winner in overtime.
Huntsville outshot Jacksonville 47-38 but were 0-7 on the powerplay while the Barracudas converted on two of seven.
Saturday, February 24 - Huntsville 7, Pee Dee 4
FLORENCE, S.C. - In front of one of the largest crowds of the season, the Pee Dee Cyclones looked to defeat the Huntsville Havoc for the first time this season. However, Huntsville offensive attacks were too much for the Cyclones.
Travis Kauffeldt and Trevor Karasiewicz scored two goals each for Huntsville, while Justin Schmit, Craig Bushey and Craig Miller all scored one each. Jonathan Lounsbury and Martin Kubaliak both had two assists each.
Allan Sirois scored two goals for Pee Dee.
Matt Carmichael made 25 saves in the win. The Havoc converted 3-11 powerplay chances while Pee Dee was 1-5.
