Huntsville Havoc News Release
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Huntsville Havoc head coach, John Gibson, announced today that the team has traded for the rights of Justin Keller from the Pee Dee Cyclones.
Keller started the season in Florida and was picked up by Pee Dee in the draft held after the seals ceased operations. He was in his second season in Florida and was leading the Seals in goals with 22 and points with 37.
"We couldn't be more excited to have Justin joining our team for the playoff stretch," Gibson said. "He is a proven goal scorer and has plenty of valuable playoff experience after making it to the finals last year with Florida. We will have Justin in a Havoc jersey just as soon as his immigration is approved."
He has played in 137 career regular season games and scored 60 goals and recorded 56 assists. He has 60 games in the CHL with the Lubbock Cotton Kings and the Tulsa Oilers. He has also played in 12 career playoff games and scored four goals and recorded five assists.
Coach Gibson will send Pee Dee a list of five players after the season. They will choose a player from that list to complete the trade.
The Havoc will have to file the immigration papers for Keller and hopefully have him on the ice for the March 9 game against Jacksonville.
