Huntsville 2, Fayetteville 6 - Tuesday, February 8
FAYETTEVILLE, NC - The Fayetteville Fire Antz scored three goals in the third period on their way to a 6-2 win over the Huntsville Havoc Tuesday night.
The game was tied 2-2 before Chad Peck scored a power play goal for Fayetteville to grab a 3-2 lead with two minutes left in the second period.Official Kirk Wood then called 60 penalty minutes on Huntsville and none on Fayetteville in the final 22 minutes, including 20 minutes each on Matt Carmichael and Jason deGuehery for abuse of officials. Fayetteville added two more power play goals.
Josh Liebenow and Dan Buccella scored for the Havoc.
Asheville 4, Huntsville 3- Thursday, February 10
ASHEVILLE, NC - Jarno Mensonen scored with one second left in the game to give the Asheville Aces a 4-3 win over the Huntsville Havoc Thursday night.
The Aces raced out to a 3-0 lead in the first nine minutes of the game before Huntsville responded to tie the game at 3-3 on a Brandon Doria goal with 2:34 left in the game.
Steve Howard and Doug Merrell both scored goals for the Havoc.
Fayetteville 6, Huntsville 4 - Friday, February 11
HUNTSVILLE, AL - The Fayetteville Fire Antz jumped out to a 5-1 lead and held on for a 6-4 win Friday night over the Huntsville Havoc.
George Nistas put the Fire Antz up 1-0 just 3:32 into the game. Kory Baker added the second goal just 13 second later and the Fire Antz led 2-0.
James Patterson scored his 199th career goal on a five on three to pull the Havoc to within one.
Baker scored his second goal and Josh Welter and Mark Phenow both scored to give the Fire Antz the 5-1 lead.
Doug Merrell scored late in the second period on a power play goal and Brandon Doria and Mike Degurse scored in the third to make the score 5-4.
Nistas added his second goal with 4:46 left in the game to seal the win.
Macon 1, Huntsville 4 - Saturday, February 12
HUNTSVILLE, AL - The Huntsville Havoc jumped out to a 4-0 lead at the end of the first period and held on for a 4-1 win over the Macon Trax Saturday night in front of 4,891 fans snapping a three-game losing streak.
Steve Howard scored first just 1:43 into the game with assists from Mike Degurse and James Patterson. Patterson added his 200th career goal just two minutes later with assists from Degurse and Doug Merrell. Merrell gave the Havoc a 3-0 lead six minutes into the game with assists from Degurse and Patterson. Jeff Dams found the back of the net with 30 seconds left in the period. Mark Cole and Brandon Doria had the assists.
Macon finally got on the board 1:16 into the second period on a Ryan Rivard goal. Matt Carmichael got the win stopping 35-of-36 shots. Matt Cairns took the loss. He allowed three goals and had one save in 5:53 of play.
