
Washington Whirls Past Windy City Thunderbolts; Foss Pitches Shutout

Washington, Pa - The Washington Wild Things (16-14) defeated the Windy City Thunderbolts (19-12) by a score of 3-0 in a nine-inning battle lead by pitcher Trevor Foss.
 The Friday match-up earned Foss (5-2) another win on the season, as he allowed no runs and only three hits in his nine innings on the hill.
 The Wild Things jumped first; leadoff hitter Jamal Austin launched a triple in the bottom of the first, followed by a sacrifice fly by Ricky Rodriguez to learn the first run.
 In the third inning Washington scored again; a two out triple by Rodriguez and a single by Haar put the Wild Things up 2-0.
 Washington rallied around their pitcher as they produced four 1-2-3 innings. Foss recorded four strikeouts - bringing his total to 39 for the year. His ERA decreases to 1.83.
The Washington Wild Things will meet the Windy City Thunderbolts for game two Saturday, when first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. EDT. The first 1000 fans receive a Wild Things Ball Cap courtesy of CoGos. Tickets are available at the CONSOL Energy Park's box office or by calling (724)-250-9555.
