Washington Stealth News Release

Everett, Wash. - Washington Stealth goaltender Tyler Richards was honored by the National Lacrosse League today for his performance in the Stealth's victory over the Colorado Mammoth last weekend. Richards made a career-high 52 saves to earn the Defensive Player of the Week award.

Richards earned game MVP honors last weekend, leading the Stealth to a 10-8 win in Colorado. He held the Mammoth scoreless in the first quarter despite five power plays, stopping all 16 shots he faced. Richards also added an assist in the game.

Richards is 2-1 on the year after being sidelined with a lower body injury to start the season. His .794 save percentage is good for sixth in the NLL.

Richards and the Stealth will face the Edmonton Rush this weekend in a home-and-home doubleheader. The Stealth travels to Edmonton on Friday, February 11 and then returns to the Comcast Arena on February 12 for a 7:30pm PST game. Tickets are still available and can be purchased by calling 877-MY-75-TIX or at www.stealthlax.com.
