Stealth's Rhys Duch and Mike Grimes named to 2013 NLL All-Pro Team

EVERETT, Wash. -- The Washington Stealth's Rhys Duch and Mike Grimes have named to the National Lacrosse League All-Pro Team for the 2013 season.

Both former first-round draft picks, Duch was selected First Team All-Pro as a forward, while Grimes was named to the NLL Second Team as a defenseman. It's Duch's third career All-Pro selection, previously being tapped for the honor in 2010 and 2011. He is the first NLL First Team pick for the franchise since it relocated to Washington state in 2010. The All-Pro award is the first for Grimes.

In 2013, Duch scored in every game to lead the NLL with 45 goals in 16 regular-season games played. Along with 51 assists, he tallied 96 regular-season points to finish third among NLL scorers. Duch also tied for fourth with three shorthanded goals and eighth in both assists (51) and shooting percentage (.213).

A native of Victoria, British Columbia and Calgary, Alberta resident, Duch played collegiately at Stony Brook University in New York. He was the Stealth's first-round (3rd overall) selection in the 2008 Entry Draft.

The five-year veteran was previously named Second Team All-Pro in 2010 and 2011. He began his NLL career in 2009 setting the league's all-time rookie scoring record with 89 points (35g, 54a) en-route to NLL Rookie of the Year and All-Rookie Team honors.

Grimes finished the 2013 regular season with eight goals and a career-high 11 assists for 20 points, ranking second among NLL defensemen. He finished the season tied for second in assists (12), third in goals (8), fourth in loose balls (95), and had 14 forced turnovers.

Runner-up for Defensive Player of the Year, the seven-year NLL veteran and Peterborough, Ontario native was a 2006 first-round NLL Entry Draft selection (6th overall).

All-time, 17 Stealth players have been named to the NLL All-Pro team including seven First-Team and 10 Second-Team picks.

The 2013 NLL All-Pro First Team consists of the Stealth's Duch, Toronto Rock forward Garrett Billings, Calgary Roughnecks forward Shawn Evans, Minnesota Swarm transition player Jordan MacIntosh, Edmonton Rush defenseman Kyle Rubisch, and Rochester Knighthawks goaltender Matt Vinc.

The All-Pro Second Team includes the Stealth's Grimes, Minnesota Swarm forward Callum Crawford, Calgary Roughnecks forward Curtis Dickson, Colorado Mammoth forward John Grant, Jr., Toronto Rock transition player Jesse Gamble and Philadelphia Wings goaltender Brandon Miller.

The 2013 NLL Season Awards are determined by a vote of the league's Board of Governors, General Managers and Head Coaches.

The 2013 West Division Champion Washington Stealth take on the defending NLL Champion and 2013 East Division Champion Rochester Knighthawks in the 2013 NLL Championship Game presented by Reebok, Saturday, May 11 at 4 p.m. PT (7 p.m. ET) at Langley Events Centre, live exclusively on CBS Sports Network.
