Washington, D.C. - A trio of Washington Spirit players have been named to the NWSL's Best XI of the Month, presented by Amazon Prime, for their performances during September competition, the league announced today. Midfielder Croix Bethune, goalkeeper Aubrey Kingsbury and forward Trinity Rodman have all earned the nod for the league-wide team of the month.

Bethune makes her fourth career appearance on the monthly Best XI after earning the honor in each of her first three months in the league. The sophomore star tallied two goal contributions for the Spirit last month: an assist on Rodman's second goal in the September 7 win over Seattle and a second half equalizer in Los Angeles to save a point for the Spirit on September 18.

Kingsbury earns the monthly honor for the seventh time in her career and second time in 2025. With three clean sheets in four September matches, Kingsbury increased her season tally to eight shutouts as the Spirit outscored its opponents 8-2 last month. The two-time Goalkeeper of the Year now has 45 career regular season clean sheets, fourth-most in NWSL history.

Rodman adds Best XI to her September awards list after winning Player of the Month yesterday. The star forward netted three goals and two assists last month including a brace in the home win over Seattle and assists on two of Gift Monday's three goals during her record-setting hat trick against Houston. This is the fourth career Best XI of the Month win for Rodman.

The NWSL Best XI of the Month, presented by Amazon Prime is selected each month of the regular season by the NWSL Media Association, a collection of writers that cover the league on a consistent basis and the NWSL's on-air broadcast talent.
