Washington, D.C. - Washington Spirit Star Forward Trinity Rodman has been called up to the U.S. Women's National Team for their upcoming friendlies against Japan over the next few weeks, the USWNT announced today. Rodman and the USWNT will face the recently crowned champions of the AFC Women's Asian Cup in three consecutive matches during the upcoming FIFA window.
Rodman has been a mainstay of the U.S. roster since earning her first senior team call-up in January 2022. Across 52 appearances for the side, the star forward has tallied 13 goals and nine assists. Rodman scored in each of the USWNT's January friendlies against Chile and Paraguay, including one off an assist from Spirit teammate Tara Rudd. She also appeared in all three of the team's 2026 SheBelieves Cup matches last month, helping the U.S. win the tournament for the eighth time.
USWNT's April 2026 Schedule:
vs Japan | Saturday, April 11 at 5:30 p.m. EDT (PayPal Park, San Jose, California)
vs Japan | Tuesday, April 14 at 10 p.m. EDT (Lumen Field, Seattle, Washington)
vs Japan | Friday, April 17 at 9 p.m. EDT (Dick's Sporting Goods Park, Commerce City, Colorado)
With the Spirit, Rodman has started all four league matches so far this season, totaling 331 minutes of action. In her sixth season with Washington, the southern California native has tallied 36 goals and 23 assists in a Spirit kit, helping the team win the 2021 NWSL Championship in her rookie campaign and make back-to-back appearances in the title match in 2024 and 2025. Last week, Rodman became the youngest player in NWSL history to reach 100 regular season appearances at just 23 years old.
The Spirit will next take the pitch at Audi Field on Friday, April 24 when the side hosts the defending Shield winner Kansas City Current. Kicking off at 8 p.m. EDT, the match will see the top two teams from last season face off. Tickets are available at WashingtonSpirit.com/tickets.
