
Two Houston Dash Players Named to U.S. Women's National Team Roster for April Matches

HOUSTON - U.S. Soccer announced today that Houston Dash captain Jane Campbell and defender Avery Patterson will join the U.S. Women's National Team for three friendlies against Japan in April.
The United States will face the recently crowned champions of the AFC Women's Asian Cup in three consecutive matches during the upcoming FIFA window. The first match is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. CT on Saturday, April 11 at PayPal Park in San Jose, Calif. The teams will meet again at meet again at 9 p.m. CT on Tuesday, April 14 at Lumen Field in Seattle, Wash. The final match of the series will take place at. 8 p.m. CT on Friday, April 17 at Dick's Sporting Good Park in Commerce City, Colo. All matches will stream live on HBO Max and Peacock. Campbell returns to the USWNT following a strong start to the 2026 NWSL season. The Dash captain has recorded back-to-back clean sheets to open the campaign, including her 44th career regular season shutout on March 21 in Houston's home opener. The veteran goalkeeper earned Player of the Week and Save of the Week nominations for her performance in the opening match of the season. Campbell made her senior team debut in April 2017 against Russa and has since appeared in 10 games for the senior team, recording six shutouts. She also featured in two matches during the 2025 SheBelieves Cup and joined the USWNT for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and 2024 Paris Olympics.
Patterson has made 10 national team appearances since making her debut against Brazil on April 5, 2025. The 23-year-old signed a multi-year contract extension with the Dash in February following a standout 2025 season, during which she was named to the NWSL Best XI First Team, presented by Prime Video, and nominated for the NWSL Defender of the Year award. Patterson contributed to five goals last season (three goals, two assists) while making a significant defensive impact, leading the team with 40 interceptions and 32 tackles won.
The pair will depart for camp following Houston's match on Friday, April 3 at Shell Energy Stadium as the team hosts Racing Louisville FC for the first of two Pups at the Pitch matches this season.
