Racing Louisville FC News Release
Racing Louisville forward Emma Sears has been called up to the U.S. Women's National Team for three games against Japan this month.
Sears has begun the year in strong form. The 25-year-old has tallied one goal and two assists for Racing in two NWSL games so far this season. She has also scored twice in five games for the USWNT this year, across two camps.
Sears has earned 17 caps for the United States, scoring six goals. This marks her 10th career call-up and third of 2026.
The USWNT will face Japan three times during the camp: on April 11 at PayPal Park in San Jose, Calif. (5:30 p.m. ET), on April 14 at Lumen Field in Seattle, Wash. (10 p.m. ET), and on April 17 at DICK'S Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo. (9 p.m. ET).
All three matches will air nationally on TNT and truTV, with streaming on HBOMax. Spanish language coverage will be available on Universo and Peacock.
Japan is coming off a title in the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup, held in Australia earlier this month. Japan outscored its opponents 29-1 in the tournament.
"Japan is undoubtedly one of the top teams in the world, and they are performing at a very high level coming off their Asian Cup title, which was impressive to watch," USWNT head coach Emma Hayes said in a release. "Playing the same country three times in a row, and especially a team that is as dedicated to their style as Japan, will be a massive test for our team and I'm looking forward to seeing how our team handles the numerous challenges these games will present."
Sears is one of 19 NWSL players on the 26-player roster. Additionally, she is one of eight players on the roster to have scored for the USWNT this year. Every player on the roster has earned at least one cap with the USWNT.
Before joining the U.S. for this camp, Sears and Racing Louisville will travel to face the Houston Dash on Friday, April 3. Kickoff is set for 8:30 p.m. ET at Shell Energy Stadium (NWSL+).
Following the camp, Sears and Racing will return home to Lynn Family Stadium for the first time in over a month, and just the second time this season, for a game agaisnt the Orlando Pride. Kickoff will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, April 24.
