
Washington Spirit Exercises Options on Nine Players; Offers New Contracts to Six

BOYDS, Md- The Washington Spirit has offered new contracts to six players and exercised the 2017 contract options on nine players.
Players whose options were exercised for the 2017 season include: goalkeeper Kelsey Wys; forwards Cali Farquharson, Cheyna Williams, and Katie Stengel; midfielders Line Sigvardsen Jensen and Joanna Lohman; and defenders Alyssa Kleiner, Megan Oyster, and Estelle Johnson.
Players who are out of contract and have been extended new contract offers include: defenders Whitney Church and Caprice Dydasco; midfielders Estefania Banini, Christine Nairn, and Tori Huster; and forward Francisca Ordega.
Forward Laura del Rio is out of contract and has been placed on the Re-entry Wire.
Players who remain on the club's roster as Federation Players include: Canada goalkeeper Stephanie Labbé, Canada defender Shelina Zadorsky, USA defender Ali Krieger, Canada midfielder Diana Matheson, and USA forward Crystal Dunn.
