Western New York Flash Re-Sign Four Players, Exercise Options on Ten Players

BUFFALO, NY --- The Western New York Flash announced today that the team has re-signed forward Kristen Hamilton, defenders Elizabeth Eddy and Abby Erceg, and goalkeeper Katelyn Rowland. The organization has also exercised the 2017 contract options on ten players.

Players whose options were exercised for the 2017 season are: goalkeeper Britt Eckerstrom; defenders Abby Dahlkemper, Alanna Kennedy, Courtney Niemiec, and Meredith Speck; midfielders Makenzy Doniak, Michaela Hahn, and McCall Zerboni; and forwards Taylor Smith and Lynn Williams.

Canada goalkeeper Sabrina D'Angelo and USA midfielder Samantha Mewis remain on the club's roster as Federation Players.

The organization has declined the 2017 contract option on midfielder Janice Cayman. The Belgian National Team member will be spending next summer preparing for and playing in the UEFA Women's EURO 2017 tournament.

Defender Jaelene Hinkle and forward Jessica McDonald are out of contract and have been extended new contract offers.

In addition, the Flash have received an exception for midfielder Lianne Sanderson due to injury and will retain her rights until the start of the 2017 preseason.
