Wash Pa Looza Set at CONSOL Energy Park

WASHINGTON, Pa.-CONSOL Energy Park will play host to a variety of entertainment options other than baseball during the 2012 season. The first series gets underway at the Washington ballpark the weekend of May 17-19, when Wash Pa Looza takes place.

Thursday night The Swank's Steel City Shows Midway and Carnival will arrive in Washington. The midway will set up in the parking lot for the weekend when folks are encouraged to enjoy the rides.

Friday night features the first concert of the season. Country artist Darryl Worley, who is best known for his hit Have You Forgotten, will take the stage. In addition to Worley, comedian Jim Labriola of the sitcom Home Improvement; Sarah Marince, better known as the Eat N Park girl; Abby Abbondanza, and the Steve Smith Band will perform. All proceeds from the concert/event will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.

Saturday, the park will open from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. with free entertainment and area businesses showcasing their products. On the field fans will enjoy the music of Johnny Angel and the Halos, the Four Townsmen, and Bryan Cole.

At 6:00 p.m. another concert, featuring local artists, Donnie Iris and Cruisers, along with Joe Grushecky and the House Rockers, and Chris Higbee.

"These events lead into opening week for the Wild Things," said Steve Zavacky, assistant general manager of the Washington Wild Things. "This year is going to be, by far, our biggest and best ever. We're planning great baseball along with several concerts, circuses, and even professional wrestling at the park. CONSOL Energy Park will be the place to go in 2012!"
