London Rippers Announce Coaching Staff

LONDON, ONTARIO - The London Rippers are thrilled to announce their coaching staff for the inaugural 2012 Frontier League season.

Managing Partner/General Manager, David Martin has decided to take on the Field Manager role for the London Rippers this season.

David has been the architect in putting this ballclub together both on and off the field and is the perfect person to guide this team in the right direction.

Martin has spent over a decade in coaching, including Division I NCAA baseball programs such as Eastern Michigan University, Bowling Green State University and University of Miami, Florida. Furthermore, he has coached or managed in the Cape Cod League, Northeastern League and the Great Lakes League.

Joining David on the bench will be London native and Assistant GM, Mike Lumley as Pitching Coach. Mike was drafted in the 5th round of the 1988 MLB Draft by the Detroit Tigers and spent 6 years in professional baseball. As a coach, he has been named OUA Coach of the Year 4 times, won 4 OUA Championships with the Western Mustangs and has served as Pitching Coach of the Canadian Junior National Team.

Assistant GM, Matt Dillard will fill the role of Bench Coach. Matt has played professional baseball in the New York State League and with the Traverse City Beach Bums of the Frontier League.

And Vinny Ganz has been appointed Hitting Coach. In his career, Vinny attended college at William Paterson and played two seasons with the Danbury Westerners of the New England Collegiate Baseball League.
