Winston-Salem Dash News Release
Winston-Salem, NC - Winston-Salem Warthogs' play by play broadcaster and Director of Media Relations, Alan York, has announced he'll be leaving the team, effective Monday, June 5th. York is joining the ISP Sports Network in Winston-Salem, NC. Warthogs' media intern, Ed Collari, will finish out the Warthogs' broadcast season, beginning with the Warthogs' road series at Potomac tonight.
"Words can't express how much I've enjoyed my seven seasons working with the Warthogs front office and the Chicago White Sox. This organization is heading in a great direction and I'm proud to say I've been a part of the growth it has made. Thanks to everyone I've worked with for allowing me to grow as a person and as a broadcaster," York said.
Warthogs' President, Guy Schuman, added, "It is with very mixed emotions that we send Alan on to the next step of what we believe will be a very successful broadcasting career. While we are very excited about the opportunity that is before him at ISP, we will miss his professionalism and dedication to his craft and our organization that he delivered on a daily basis. We wish him all the best in attaining his career goals."
York, a 1999 graduate of Guilford College, began broadcasting games with the Warthogs under Tom Hart in 2000. York has also been the voice of High Point University basketball and Mt. Airy High School football since 2001.
Warthogs' media intern, Ed Collari, is a native of Lilburn, GA and is a student at The Ohio State University.
