TONIGHT'S GAME:
The Hillcats continue an eight-game road trip with the final of four games against the Winston-Salem Warthogs...Last night, Winston- Salem shocked the Cats with three runs in the eighth on their way to a 3-2 win...The Hillcats led 2-0 behind seven shutout innings from their starter, Wardell Starling...Despite the loss, the Cats actually gained ground in the Northern Division last night and are in a virtual tie for first place with Potomac and Wilmington....Interestingly, all four Northern Division squads are seperated by a total of 2.0-games in the standings ... Currently, every team in the division posts a losing record...The only time a team advanced to the CL post-season without an above .500 record was in 1985...The Winston-Salem Spirits captured the Southern Division first-half crown with a record of 35-35...Lynchburg plays 15 of their last 19 games in the first half on the road...They are 1-2 to begin that stretch...In addition, all 19 games are against Southern Division squads...The Cats are 8-16 against the Southern Division this season...
TONIGHT'S OPPONENT
- Harrell, 20, is a 6-2, 200-pound right-hander selected by Chicago (AL) in the 4th round of the 2004 draft out of Ozark (MO) High School. The Missouri native went went 7-11 with a 3.65 ERA (26 gs, 133.1 ip, 128 h, 86 r, 54 er, 71 bb, 85 k) with Kannapolis (A, SAL) last season. The youngster led the Intimidators in starts (26) and was 2nd on the team with 133.1 innings worked. He made his pro debut in 2004 with Bristol (A, Appalachian), garnering a 3-5 mark with a 5.59 ERA. He was named first-team All-State after going 10-1 with a 1.09 ERA to guide Ozark to a State Championship in 2004.

NEWS AND NOTES
The Hillcats lost last night for just the second time this season when leading after five innings (20-2)....1B Steve Pearce hit his 15th homerun of the season Wednesday...That total is the third highest in all of minor league baseball (see graphic below)...In addition, the slugger picked up his 49th RBI of the year last night, tied for the second highest total in minor league baseball....Nyjer Morgan had his 21-game hit streak come to an end in Lynchburg's 13-4 loss on Tuesday...He batted 30-80, .375-0-8 during the streak that began in late April and was interrupted for nearly two weeks due to a leg injury sustained on May 8th...Alan York, who has served as the radio voice of the Winston-Salem Warthogs since 2002, will be calling his final innings today...The "Voice of the Warthogs" has accepted a full-time position with ISP Sports, a leader in collegiate sports marketing and broadcasting...
