Warriors Start Road Trip in Swift Current Monday

Moose Jaw Warriors News Release
Moose Jaw, SK - The Moose Jaw Warriors have loaded up the bus for two weeks on the road.
The Warriors will start the season-high eight-game trek with a big Eastern Conference matchup on Monday against the Broncos in Swift Current.
"It's going to be hard, but we're up for it," Warriors forward Lynden Lakovic said on heading on the road for eight games in 14 days. "Every game is going to be a battle, especially with the tight schedule and game-after-game, but it's also going to be great with the bonding off the ice."
The Warriors enter the road trip with a 34-17-0-2 record, which is the second-best record in the Eastern Conference.
The team is coming off a tough loss to the Calgary Hitmen on Saturday night and will be looking to get momentum back on their side to start the trek.
"It's a massive game, start of our road trip, you really want to build momentum coming off a pretty upsetting loss, we're a team that can easily flip the page and bounce back, so tonight is going to be massive," Lakovic said.
"It's a big game standings-wise, Swift Current is a rival for us and could end up playing them in the playoffs, so this game means a lot more than just momentum."
The Warriors swept their home-and-home set with the Broncos last month and have a 3-2 record against their Trans-Canada highway rivals this season.
Moose Jaw is 1-1 at the InnovationPlex in Swift Current. Lakovic said the Warriors will be tasked with slowing down the speedy Broncos in their home rink.
"They've got some players that can put the puck in the net, they like to spread their forwards, so if we have a high guy and try through the middle and play them tight, we'll make them turn pucks over and our skill can take over from there," he said.
The Warriors and Broncos meet at 5 p.m. on Monday in Swift Current.
After that, the Warriors will travel to Lethbridge and take on the Hurricanes on Wednesday before heading down into the U.S. Division for games on the weekend.
