Moose Jaw Warriors News Release

Moose Jaw, SK: The Moose Jaw Warriors have announced the trade of forward Giffen Nyren along with the Tribe's 5th round draft pick in the 2010 WHL Bantam Draft to the Kamloops Blazers in exchange for the Blazers 4th & 5th round picks in the 2009 WHL Bantam draft.

The 6'0", 185lbs native of Calgary Alberta has been a member of the Warriors for 2 seasons and has a dressed in 130 games for the Tribe accumulating 9 goals and 28 assists for 37 points. "It was a situation where at 19 year of age Giffen was slotted to play in our top nine as a forward, however; through camp he expressed an interest of no longer playing forward and wanted to play defense," stated Warriors General Manager Chad Lang. "Due to the depth on our backend and how our young guys competed in camp, we did not feel we could accommodate Giffen's needs and wants," Lang continued. "We felt it was better to give him an opportunity and a fresh start with a new club. We would like to thank him for his commitment the past two years and wish him all the best in Kamloops."

The Moose Jaw Warriors have also announced the re-assignment of Warriors neminders Kevin Jebson, Brandon Glover and forward Tyler Miller to their respective clubs.
