Santa Cruz Warriors News Release
ONTARIO, CA - The Santa Cruz Warriors (10-15) lost to the Agua Caliente Clippers (16-9) Tuesday night at Toyota Arena, 118-103.
Santa Cruz made their first eight of eleven shots and gained as much as a 15-point lead in the first quarter to move into the second up, 30-22. Agua started the second quarter on an 11-0 run and were able to carry that momentum to capture a 10-point lead into halftime, 61-51.
The Warriors won the third quarter (26-24) yet were still down eight heading into the final frame, 85-77. The lead was too much for the Warriors to overcome in the fourth and they drop to 10-15 in the regular season.
Santa Cruz had all five starters in double figures with Jerome Robinson leading the way with 23 points and seven rebounds. Golden State Warriors Assignment Center James Wiseman (15 points, 9 rebounds) and Sea Dubs Center Selom Mawugbe (10 points, 9 rebounds) were both just shy of double-doubles.
The Clippers were led by George King with 29 points (8-13 3FG), while Shevon Thompson and Keaton Wallace both tallied 12 rebounds.
Santa Cruz will have a rematch against Agua Caliente on Saturday, March 19 in Santa Cruz at 7:00 p.m. PST. For more information on the Santa Cruz Warriors, visit santacruzbasketball.com or call (831) 713-4400.
