
Skyforce Acquires Charles Cooke

Sioux Falls, SD - The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today that the team has acquired Charles Cooke from the available player pool.
Cooke, a 6-5, 195-pound guard went undrafted in the 2017 NBA Draft out of Dayton. He most recently played for the Maine Celtics this season, appearing in four games, and averaging 4.8 points on 35 percent shooting, 3.0 rebounds and 0.5 assists per 18.3 minutes per game.
He spent the 2019-20 season playing overseas, and between Universo De'Longhi Treviso and Atleticos de San German, he averaged 9.0 points on 37.8 percent shooting, 2.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists per 25.5 minutes in 17 games (15 starts).
Cooke played with the Skyforce for the 2018-19 season, appearing in 40 games (25 starts) with an average of 14.4 points on 46.2 percent shooting, 4.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists per 31.6 minutes a game. His play earned him a 10-day contract with the Miami HEAT in March 2019.
Starting the 2017-18 season as a two-way player with the New Orleans Pelicans, Cooke appeared in 13 games, scoring 0.5 points, 0.2 rebounds and 0.1 assists per 2.9 minutes a game. He then spent the remainder of the season with the Greensboro Swarm and Salt Lake City Stars, playing in 25 games (10 starts), while averaging 12.7 points on 45.1 percent shooting, 4.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists per 25.4 minutes.
Prior to his professional career, Cooke spent a total of four seasons at James Madison and Dayton, where he averaged 12.8 points on 43.3 percent shooting, 4.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists per 30.3 minutes a game in 123 games (98 starts). Cooke posted a career-high 15.8 points on 45.5 percent shooting, 5.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists per 31.6 minutes in 29 games (27 starts) as a senior in 2016-17 for the Flyers.
Cooke is expected to be available for the team's upcoming road game on Thursday versus the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 PM CST at Bert Ogden Arena in Edinburg, TX.
