Moose Jaw Warriors News Release
Spokane, WA - After picking up a huge win over Tri-City on Friday, the Moose Jaw Warriors aim to keep building momentum as they head to Spokane.
The Warriors square off with the Chiefs for the only time this season on Saturday night at the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena.
On Friday night, the Warriors snapped a three-game losing skid with a massive 9-4 win over the Americans in Kennewick, WA.
Moose Jaw found itself down 3-2 early in the second period, but scored six unanswered goals to end the frame and added another in the third for the lopsided win.
Matthew Savoie found his stride with his second five-point game as a Warrior, finishing with two goals and three assists in the win. The Buffalo Sabres prospect now has nine goals and 23 points in 12 games with Moose Jaw.
The Warriors moved into a tie with the Medicine Hat Tigers for second in the Eastern Conference with Friday's win, while also sitting four points in front of Swift Current.
Now, the Warriors turn their attention to the Chiefs, who hold down the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference with a 24-26-4-1 record.
Spokane has won back-to-back games after topping the Regina Pats, 5-2, on Friday night. They're 6-3-0-1 in their last ten games.
Berkly Catton, a top prospect for the 2024 NHL Draft, leads the Chiefs in scoring with 42 goals and 91 points this season, while 20-year-old Connor Roulette is second with 36 goals and 82 points.
Spokane won the only meeting between the two teams last season, topping the Warriors, 5-2, in Moose Jaw.
The two sides hit the ice at 8:05 p.m. on Saturday night at the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena.
