Moose Jaw, SK. -- The Brandon Wheat Kings losing streak now stands at four games, following Sunday's 8-2 loss to the Warriors in Moose Jaw.

The Eastern Division leading Warriors broke open a close game with five unanswered third period goals as the Wheat Kings record slipped to 22-10-1-2 on the season.

Justin Kirsch scored twice and set up another for the winners while 17-year old defencemen Eric Roy and Ryan Pulock replied for the Wheat Kings, who have now lost seven of their last eight and fourteen of their last 20.

"We had a couple of chances to score, our power-play had a couple of chances to score and we just had a feeling that if we got the next one things would go or we were one shot away," Brandon assistant coach Dwayne Gylywoychuk told Bruce Luebke on CKLQ's post-game show. "I just thought throughout the night that we were there and then in the third period, we just let it go, made some bad mental mistakes, it cost us and they put the puck in the net when those mistakes were made."

Sunday's game came one day after Brandon ended an unsuccessful 3-game home stand that saw the Wheat Kings lose to Saskatoon, Red Deer and Victoria.

The Wheat Kings will now travel to Saskatoon for a 2-game series with the Blades, before returning home to face the defending Champion Kootenay Ice on Saturday night.
