Moose Jaw Warriors News Release

The Winnipeg ICE scored four unanswered in the third period to knock off the Moose Jaw Warriors, 5-4, on Saturday night at Mosaic Place.

Brayden Yager had two goals, while Jagger Firkus, Eric Alarie and Cade Hayes had two assists each in the losing effort for Moose Jaw.

The loss drops the Warriors' record to 3-5-0-0 this season, while the ICE have won nine straight to start the season, including back-to-back over Moose Jaw.

Ryder Korczak gave the Warriors an early lead when he struck for his fourth of the season just 5:01 into the game.

The Warriors would take a 2-0 lead with just over a minute left in the opening frame as Robert Baco buried a rebound for his second of the year.

Moose Jaw moved in front 3-0 when Yager wired a shot top shelf of his fourth of the season with 7:17 gone in the second.

Winnipeg was able to get on the board six minutes later when Carson Lambos's point shot found its way through on the power play to make it 3-1 after two.

Yager restored the Warriors' three-goal lead 9:00 into the third period, but the ICE flipped the script on Moose Jaw after that.

Matthew Savoie scored back-to-back goals 2:06 apart, the second one coming on the power play.

Nolan Orzeck tied up the game with 6:57 remaining and then Connor McClennon scored the game winner with 45 seconds left to give the ICE the win.

Carl Tetachuk made 42 saves in the loss for Moose Jaw, while Winnipeg's Gage Alexander stopped 23 of 27 shots in the win.

The Warriors didn't receive a power play opportunity in the game, while the ICE were 2-for-5 with the man advantage.

The Warriors will return to the ice on Wednesday when they travel to Saskatoon to face-off with the Blades. Moose Jaw's next home game is on Friday when they host the Medicine Hat Tigers at Mosaic Place.
