Bismarck, N.D. (Jan. 26, 2011) - The Dakota Wizards announced today the assignment of rookie forward Chris Wright from the Golden State Warriors, the Wizards' NBA D-League affiliate. The assignment marks the 30th time an NBA player has been assigned to his NBA D-League affiliate during the 2011-12 season and is the first of Wright's career.
Wright, who was signed as a free agent on December 12, 2011, has appeared in five games for the Warriors this season, averaging 1.0 point in 3.2 minutes per game. He was the third overall pick of the Maine Red Claws in the 2011 NBA D-League Draft and averaged 17.0 points and 10.8 rebounds in four games with the Red Claws.
Wizard fans will get to see Wright in action as he will join the team today and be in uniform this Saturday night when the team plays host to the Iowa Energy.
The current roster stands at 11 players.
