Tulsa, OK - The Springfield Cardinals tossed their second-straight shutout win, blanking the Tulsa Drillers, 8-0, before 4,665 fans at ONEOK Field on Monday night. One night after RHP Anthony Shew, RHP Junior Fernandez and RHP Derian Gonzalez shut out the Arkansas Travelers on Sunday, LHP Austin Warner combined with RHP Ramon Santos and RHP Eric Carter to shut out the Drillers.

Warner (W, 2-3) started the game with a walk before later erasing that runner with a caught stealing while rattling off five straight strikeouts. He no-hit the Drillers (20-10, 54-46) through his first 5.0 frames, facing the minimum until a leadoff single to start the sixth broke up the no-hit bid. Warner finished with a season-high eight strikeouts while yielding only two hits and one walk through his scoreless performance.

While Warner was blanking the Drillers, the Cardinals (12-19, 45-56) swung in front in the top of the second. LF Johan Mieses led off with a triple, before racing home on an RBI infield single from C Andrew Knizner for the 1-0 lead.

A two-run shot from 1B John Nogowksi in the third made it 3-0, before Knizner followed suit with a solo blast in the fourth for the 4-0 advantage. Springfield kept swinging in the sixth with an RBI triple from RF Lane Thomas and an RBI single by CF Blake Drake, stretching the lead to 6-0. Knizner's second solo blast in the seventh made it 7-0, followed by a solo home run from Thomas in the eighth to open it to an eight-run lead.

RHP Ramon Santos came in after Warner's sixth inning and tossed a pair of scoreless relief frames in the seventh and eighth. RHP Eric Carter, making his season debut with Springfield, then struck out the side around a walk in the ninth, closing the 8-0 shutout win for Springfield.
