
Riders Late Rally Falls Short against Midland

FRISCO, Texas - The Frisco RoughRiders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, made things interesting with a three-run rally in the eighth but fell short to the Midland RockHounds 7-3 Tuesday at Dr Pepper Ballpark.
BIG MOMENTS
* The Riders rallied in the eighth to shrink the deficit to 4-3. Singles from Luis Yander La O and Jose Cardona got the rally started and Destin Hood added a sacrifice fly.
* Justin Topa pitched five innings of one-run ball in relief. He did not allow a walk while striking out five.
* Midland took a 3-0 lead in the second inning before adding insurance on a pair of late homers in the seventh and ninth innings.

* Justin Topa: 5 IP, 7 H, 1 ER, 5 K
* Jose Cardona: 1-for-4, RBI
* Luis Yander La O: 2-for-4, RBI
* Destin Hood: 1-for-3, 2B, RBI

* Cardona extended his hitting streak to eight games with an RBI single in the eighth.
* Cardona has six RBIs in his last five games.
* Preston Beck extended his hitting streak to five games on a first-inning single.
