Travs Split Doubleheader

Springdale, AR-After being shutout in the opening game of a doubleheader, 4-0, the Arkansas Travelers responded with an 8-1 victory over the Northwest Arkansas Naturals in game two for a clean split. The opener marked the seventh time this season that the Travs have been blanked. They were almost able to return the favor as they came within one out of a shutout in the nightcap. Three pitchers each worked 2.1 innings to hold the Naturals down while Logan Taylor homered, doubled and matched a career-best with four runs driven in.

Moments That Mattered (Game 1)

* Khalil Lee hit the first pitch from Williams Perez for a homerun and the Travs were behind from the get-go.

* Perez kept it within a run until Nick Dini blasted a two-run homer in the fifth inning.

Moments That Mattered (Game 2)

* Logan Taylor cranked a two-run shot to the oppositie field to get the Travs going in the second inning.

* Joseph Odom came up with a clutch two-out single in the third scoring a pair and pushing the lead to five.
