Wanner Signs with Edmonton Oilers

The Edmonton Oilers announced on Friday that they have signed Moose Jaw Warriors defenceman Max Wanner to a three-year, entry-level contract.

Wanner was drafted by the Oilers in the seventh round of the 2021 NHL Draft. He made his NHL preseason debut earlier this week, suiting up for Edmonton against the Kraken in Seattle.

The 19-year-old defenceman was listed by the Warriors following the 2018 WHL Draft.

Last season, Wanner set a career-high with six goals and 23 points in 55 games. In 77 career WHL games with the Warriors, he has six goals and 28 points.

Wanner will make his 2022-23 regular season debut on Friday night when the Warriors face-off with the Prince Albert Raiders at the Moose Jaw Events Centre. Click here to purchase tickets.
