Tonight, at CN Centre, the Prince George Cougars home-stand continues, as they kick off a two-game weekend set against the Kelowna Rockets beginning at 7:00 PM. The Cats are coming off an 8-3 set back against the Tri-City Americans. Koehn Ziemmer scored twice for Prince George, and Riley Heidt also netted his first of the season.

ETHAN SAMSON

After spending the last two weeks at Rookie Camp and Main Camp with the Philadelphia Flyers. Samson was a big part of the Cats production from the back end, amassing 43 points in 68 games played in 2021-22 (15-28-43). Not only did Samson get to be at Flyers main camp the past two weeks, but the Delta BC product also got the opportunity to attend the Canadian National Junior Summer Camp in Calgary in July.

IN THE PIPES

Goaltender and Vancouver Canucks fifth rounder Ty Young makes his return to the Cougar crease this evening. Young, also spent the last two weeks at Canucks Rookie Camp and Main Camp. Young heard his name called in the fifth round at this summer's NHL draft by Vancouver. Young appeared in 23 games for Prince George in 21-22 and had one of the three victories the Cats had in the 2022 pre-season.

ANDREW CRISTALL

It is a big season ahead for Rockets forward Andrew Cristall who is entering his first year of NHL Draft eligibility. The Burnaby, BC product had a memorable rookie season in the WHL, finishing third among all Rockets skaters in points with 69 (28G-41A). Cristall also suited up in five playoff contests last season and had four helpers.

SCOTT COUSINS

Prince George product Scott Cousins will make his return to his hometown this weekend. Cousins is entering his second full season in the WHL, after suiting up in 36 games last season, scoring three times and adding five assists. Cousins also got to see some time in the Hub season back in 2020-21, playing in 13 games and collecting four points. Cousins is an alumnus of the Cariboo Cougars BCEHL program, before joining the WHL club.
