Walleye Add Goaltender Billy Sauer

(TOLEDO, OH) - The Toledo Walleye are pleased to announce the addition of Goaltender Billy Sauer to the team effective immediately.

The 21-year-old started the season with the Charlotte Checkers in the ECHL. The rookie from Rochester, NY had a stellar career at the University of Michigan, winning 71 games. His best season with the maize and blue was 2007-08, compiling a record of 30-4-3 with a 1.95 GAA and.924 save percentage. His 30 wins lead the nation.

The Walleye begin a stretch of eight home games in 16 days this Friday, November 20th at 7:00 pm versus the Cincinnati Cyclones. The Walleye face the Cyclones again on Sunday, November 22nd at 5:30 pm.

Notes: Selected by the Colorado Avalanche in the 7th round of the 2006 NHL Draft...Led the nation in wins with 30 his junior season (2007-08), and set single-season records at Michigan in goals against average (1.95) and save percentage (.924) that year...Won 71 games at the university of Michigan in his four year career...Appeared in five games this year with Charlotte.
