Chiefs Deal Bushee To Wheeling

Johnstown, Pa. - The Johnstown Chiefs announced today that they have sent Kyle Bushee to the Wheeling Nailers in exchange for future considerations.

A 6-0, 190-pound defenseman from Otsego, Michigan, Bushee is playing in his second full season of professional hockey. He signed with the Chiefs to begin the 2008-2009 season, and was a steady presence on the blue line. Bushee tied Chiefs defender, and current alternate captain, Greg Gallagher for most games played (67) among Chiefs defensemen that season. He posted 23 points (4G, 19A) and 40 penalty minutes as well. Bushee's first professional goal was the game winner against Reading on 11/8/2008.

After finishing up his collegiate career at Cansius College, Bushee signed with the Cincinnati Cyclones during the 2007-2008 season and had 2 assists in his 14 games there. He participated in one playoff game as the Cyclones went on to win the Kelly Cup.

This season, Bushee has appeared in nine games for the Chiefs posting one assist, four penalty minutes, and a minus-four rating.
