FARGO, ND - The Winnipeg Goldeyes snapped a seven-game losing streak, beating the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks 8-5 on Saturday evening at Newman Outdoor Field.
The Goldeyes (26-26) jumped on RedHawks starter T.J. Stanton (2-3) early, scoring six runs in the second inning. Center fielder Aharon Eggleston struck the big blow, smacking a bases-loaded double to plate three. Luis Alen and Vince Harrison also had RBI singles in the frame.
Winnipeg tacked on two insurance runs in the eighth. Harrison came to bat with the bases loaded after two walks and a hit batter. He singled to right, scoring two and giving the Goldeyes an 8-3 lead.
Fargo-Moorhead (30-18) attempted to rally in the bottom of the ninth, scoring twice on Jesse Hoorelbeke's league-leading 17th home run of the season.
