T-Bones Snap JackHammers Winning Streak; Top 'Hammers 5-1

KANSAS CITY, KS - Dwayne White's three run home run broke a 1-1 tie as the Kansas City T-Bones (33-17) snapped the Joliet JackHammers (26-23) seven game winning streak, topping the JackHammers 5-1 Friday night at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. Joliet is now 4-4 this season against Kansas City.

Three long balls were enough against Bear Bay (4-4), who went at least seven innings for the ninth straight start. Ryan Fox started the scoring in the second with a solo shot, his tenth of the season. White made it 4-1 with his three run bomb, coming with two on and two outs in the fourth. Ray Sadler was hit by a pitch and Jim Fasano singled to set the stage for White.

The JackHammers lone tally came in the fourth on a home run by Kevin Rios. The shortstop launched a shot into the left field bleachers against Cody McAllister to tie the game at one.

McAllister won the pitching duel, surrendering one run over seven frames on four hits with five strikeouts and only one walk.

Bay went seven as well, allowing five runs on eight hits with four strikeouts, surrendering the three long balls.

Jonathan Wyatt collected three of the JackHammers five hits, extending his hitting streak to 11 games while Rios drove in the only run.

The JackHammers look to battle back tomorrow with Ross Stout (4-5) on the bump. All-Star Ryan Knippschild (6-3) will go for Kansas City. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. with a 6:55 p.m. pre-game show on 1340 WJOL.

Loose Gravel - The JackHammers saw their six game road winning streak snapped and are now 12-13 away from Silver Cross Field - Jon Nelson singled in the seventh to prolong his hitting streak to nine games - Ryan Wehrle was 0-3 and failed to reach base for the first time this season (12 games)
