WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Dash outfielder Steele Walker tied a career-high with four hits on Friday night, but the Dash fell to the Lynchburg Hillcats 6-3 in front of 5,998 fans at BB&T Ballpark.

After collecting four hits and hitting for the cycle last Friday night, Walker continued his hot streak. Rated the 10th-best prospect in the White Sox system per MLB Pipeline, Walker is now 14-for-28 over his last seven games.

However, Lynchburg (1-1, 33-36) built a 6-0 lead early and never looked back to even its series with Winston-Salem (1-1, 39-27).

The Hillcats jumped on Dash starter Konnor Pilkington (1-2) early in the contest. Steven Kwan belted the game's first pitch down the right-field line for a lead off triple. Following the three-bagger, Tyler Freeman and Nolan Jones drew back-to-back walks to load the bases. Oscar Gonzalez then bounced a single up the middle to score Kwan and Freeman to make it 2-0.

In the top of the third, Lynchburg added to its lead. With one out, Gonzalez deposited a single into center field. After a Will Benson strikeout, Gavin Collins smacked a double off the wall in left-center field to score Gonzalez and push the lead to 3-0.

The Hillcats bats struck again in the top of the fifth. First, Gonzalez led off the frame by lining a single into left field. Then, Benson crushed a two-run homer over the right-field seats to give Lynchburg a five-run edge.

Lynchburg added another in the top of the sixth. Kwan led off the frame with a double, his third extra-base hit of the night. After a popout by Freeman, Jones singled to put runners at the corners. Gonzalez then hit a sacrifice fly into left field, scoring Kwan to make it 6-0.

The Dash began to claw back in the bottom of the sixth against Lynchburg starter Justin Garza (4-5). With one out, Walker blooped a single into left-center field before Jameson Fisher and Zach Remillard drew back-to-back walks to load the bases. Garza then fired a wild pitch with Craig Dedelow at the plate, allowing Walker to score to make it 6-1.

After Dedelow walked, Garza was replaced by Jonathan Teaney, who promptly walked JJ Muno to bring home Fisher and make it a 6-2 ballgame. Following a Yeyson Yrizarri popout, Teaney threw a wild pitch with Evan Skoug at the plate, allowing Remillard to cut the lead to three.

Winston-Salem brought the tying run to the plate in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings, but were unable to plate another run. In total, the Dash left 11 runners on base.

The Dash continue their series with the Hillcats on Saturday night at 6 p.m. Right-hander Zach Lewis (4-3, 6.00 ERA) will take the mound for the Dash against fellow righty Matt Solter (4-1, 3.19 ERA). Pregame coverage begins at 5:45 p.m., and fans can catch all of the action on wsdash.com/broadcast, MiLB.tv and the TuneIn Radio App.

The series with Lynchburg continues with live music prior to the game on Saturday. Meanwhile, Sunday will be Latin American Jersey Day, and fans can get pregame autographs from the players before the game.
