Jersey Shore BlueClaws News Release

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. - The BlueClaws led 8-3 entering the bottom of the 9th inning with the pitcher with the lowest ERA on their staff on the mound.

Matt Campbell could only record one out before six runs scored for Kannapolis- the final three on a Cyle Hankerd walk-off home run- in a deflating 9-8 loss to the Intimidators.

The BlueClaws scored three runs in the 1st inning, two in the 2nd inning and led 5-0 heading into the bottom of the 2nd inning for starting pitcher Colin Kleven. Despite the run support, Kleven earned a no-decision with three runs (two earned runs) in five innings.

Campbell, whose ERA was 1.56 entering Thursday's game, had allowed three earned runs in 17.1 innings pitched this season. He now has allowed nine earned runs in 17.2 innings to have his ERA jump to 4.58.

The BlueClaws and Intimidators compete in Game 2 of a four-game series, Friday at CMC-NorthEast Stadium. Lino Martinez (3-3, 6.52) will start for the BlueClaws against Matt Lane (2-2, 3.56) for Kannapolis.

First pitch for Thursday's game is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Listen to all the action on WOBM 1160-AM and WOBM 1310-AM beginning at 6:50 p.m.
