
Walby To Wear 'C' At All-Star Game

BILOXI, Miss. â Mississippi Sea Wolves right wing Steffon Walby (STEHF-ihn WAHL-bee) has been selected as captain for the Western Conference at the Par-A-Dice ECHL All-Star Game on Wednesday at the Carver Arena ice at the Peoria Civic Center, Illinois.
In his third season as Mississippi's captain, Walby will be captain for his second straight ECHL All- Star Game. Last year, Walby and the Southern Conference All-Stars fell 8-2 to the Northern Conference All-Stars at Estero, Florida.
"It's a big honor," said Walby, who is also a starter for the Western Conference. "I'm going to have a lot of family and friends in attendance, so I hope to do better this year."
The All-Star Skills Competition is on Tuesday and Walby will be taking part in the ITECH Breakaway Relay and he's a shooter in the accuracy competition. Linemate Brent Gauvreau is also representing Mississippi as a starter for the Western Conference. Gauvreau is taking part in the one-on-one puck control relay.and will be passing the puck in the accuracy competition.
Sponsored by the Par-A-Dice Hotel Casino and hosted by the Peoria Rivermen, the Par-A-Dice ECHL All-Star Game will be played at 7:30 p.m. CT on Wednesday at Carver Arena at the Peoria Civic Center. Mississippi gets back into action at 7:35 p.m. on Friday against the Pensacola Ice Pilots at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. The game promotion consists of 2-for-1 military night, courtesy of Keesler Federal Credit Union. The broadcast starts at 7:20 p.m. with the Nextel Pregame Show on ESPN Radio WXBD-AM 1490 and online at msseawolves.com.
