GREAT FALLS, Mont. (August 25, 2014) - The Great Falls Voyagers split Monday night's doubleheader with the Missoula Osprey, losing game one 5-3 before taking game two 3-2 at Centene Stadium.

In game 1, it was Missoula (13-13, 30-34) jumping out in front early, plating three against Voyager starter Dane Stone (5-2). Tyler Baker got things going for the visitors, driving in the first run with an RBI single. The next man up, Taylor Ard, brought in two more to give the Osprey a 3-0 lead.

The visitors added another tally in the second, as Trevor Mitsui brought in his 45th RBI of the season to push the lead to four.

Great Falls (10-15, 33-30) got on the board for the first time against Dallas Newton (3-4) in the home half of the second. Louie Lechich and Jackson Laumann each collected an RBI, closing the gap to two.

The Osprey added one more to their total in the fourth. Damion Smith drove in a run with a single, pushing the margin back to three.

The Voyagers pulled one back on a run-producing single from Tyler Shryock in the sixth, but could not get any closer as they left the tying runs on.

In game two, it was Great Falls (11-15, 34-30) who struck first. Mason Robbins got things started, plating Hunter Jones with an RBI single.

The lead did not last long however, as the Osprey (13-14, 30-35) got the run back in the second on a sacrifice fly by Tyler Humphreys.

The game remained tied until the sixth, when Missoula took advantage of a pair of Voyager errors to take a 2-1 lead against reliever Jon Bengard (2-0).

In the bottom of the seventh, Lechich came off the bench and hit a double, moved to third on a single by Jones, then scored on a bounce out by Shryock. With two away, Jones was at third when Jency Solis (3-1) uncorked a wild pitch which allowed Jones to race home and score the winning run.

The win is the third walk-off win of the season for Great Falls, and ends their four-game losing streak to Missoula. It also is the Voyagers first home win of the season against the Osprey, who took the first five meetings at Centene Stadium this year.

The Voyagers continue their homestand Tuesday as they welcome the Billings Mustangs to Centene Stadium. Great Falls will send left-hander Brian Clark (2-4, 3.52) to the mound, while Billings will counter with righty Wyatt Strahan (0-3, 3.06). First pitch is set for 7:00 and coverage will begin at 6:45 on 1400 AM KXGF and gfvoyagers.com.
