GF SPLITS DOUBLE DIP

The Voyagers and Osprey split a doubleheader Monday, with Missoula taking game one 5-3, and Great Falls taking game two 3-2 in walk-off fashion. The Osprey did all of their scoring early in the opener, scoring five in the first three innings against Voyager starter Dane Stone. Trailing 5-2 in the sixth, Great Falls pulled one back on an RBI single by Tyler Shryock, but left the tying runs on and could not get any closer, losing their fourth straight to the Osprey. In game two, the Voyagers scored in the first on a run-producing single from Mason Robbins but Missoula answered with a run the next inning. The score stayed 1-1 until the sixth when the Osprey took advantage of a few errors to take the lead. With one out in the seventh, Louie Lechich doubled, then scored on a bounce out by Shryock to tie the game. Then with two outs, Hunter Jones scored on a wild pitch to give Great Falls their third walk-off victory of the 2014 season.

THE NEW GUYS

Great Falls received a pair of Domincian right-handers from the AZL White Sox Tuesday, as Kelvis Valerio and Yelmison Peralta were brought into the fold. Peralta was 4-2 with a 3.33 ERA in 10 appearances, including seven starts, with the AZL Sox, striking out 42 in 46 innings. He will make his Voyager debut Wednesday night against Billings. Peralta made 13 appearances this year for the AZL White Sox, posting a 4-2 record with a 3.55 earned run average. The 19-year old will start game two of Thursday's makeshift doubleheader with Helena.

NEXT UP: BILLINGS

The Mustangs are in town for the next two days, marking their final visit to Centene Stadium in the regular season. The season series is tied at six games apiece after the first 12 meetings, with two games remaining at each venue. The Voyagers have won four of the previous six meetings with Billings at Centene Stadium this season.
