OWLZ EARN SPLIT

One night after scoring a season-high 15 runs, the Voyager offense went quiet as Orem took Thursday's series finale 3-1 to earn a split of the four-game series. The Owlz grabbed the lead in the fourth, as Quinten Davis produced a pair of runs with a two-out double to break the scoreless deadlock. Great Falls answered with their lone run of the night in the next half inning as Patrick Palmeiro came around on an error. Orem pushed the lead back to two with a run in the next half inning, and the bullpens then put up zeroes the rest of the way.

MASON'S MASHING

With a seventh inning double, Mason Robbins extended his hitting streak to 16 games last night. During the streak, the Leakesville, Miss., native is hitting .419 (31-74), and has 11 multi-hit efforts, including a career-high four on July 23 against Helena. This run has raised his season average from .215 to .324.

THOMPSON'S TURN

After turning in his first career quality start and earning his second professional win on Saturday against Billings, right-hander Zach Thompson is back on the hill tonight for Great Falls making his ninth start. Back on Saturday, the righty went six innings for the first time in his career, allowing just one earned run on three hits against the Mustangs. In three home starts, the Burleson, Texas native is 2-0 with a 1.20 earned run average and has allowed just 11 base runners (nine hits and two walks) in 15 innings at Centene Stadium.

NEXT UP: GRAND JUNCTION

The Voyagers wrap-up this stretch of nine home games in 10 days with a three-game series against Grand Junction this weekend. The Rockies come in with the second-best overall record in the league at 29-20. Great Falls was 4-3 against Grand Junction last year with the teams splitting the four meetings here at Centene Stadium.
