(Central Islip, N.Y., September 10, 2009) - The Long Island Ducks and Delmonte-Smelson Jewelers have teamed up to present the 2009 Delmonte-Smelson/Long Island Ducks MVP Award. Fans will have the opportunity to determine who the Ducks most valuable player is through online voting on the Ducks' website, www.liducks.com, in the "Fowl Poll" section beginning immediately.
The MVP will be announced as part of the pre-game ceremonies during Fan Appreciation Day on September 20th. Phil Smelson, on behalf of Delmonte-Smelson Jewelers, will present the winner with an engraved Movado Watch, courtesy of Delmonte-Smelson Jewelers.
"This beautiful watch is an appropriate memento," commented Smelson. "The recipient will likely have shown a knack for coming through in timely spots throughout the year and what better way to reward him than with a dazzling piece of jewelry."
