KEIZER-- The Volcanoes picked up their first victory in this five game homestand in an exciting ten inning game. Volcanoes came from behind in the tenth inning to steal and 8-7 victory from Tri-City. In front of 3,170 fans the Volcanoes moved their record to 15-13.
Volcanoe pitcher Michael Kunes picked up the victory by pitching two innings. Right Fielder Brian Horwitz drove in the final two runs in the bottom of the tenth to seal the victory. Centerfielder Clay Timpner led off the first inning for the Volcanoes by hitting a solo homerun. First baseman Will Thompson went two for four at the plate with four runs batted in.
Tri City pitcher Jim Miller, who pitched two thirds of an inning, suffered the loss. Second baseman Jose Valdez led the offense for the Dust Devils. Valdez went four for five at the plate driving in three runs.
