
Vizcaino Called up to Atlanta

Lynchburg, VA- Former Hillcat Arodys Vizcaino was called up to the Atlanta Braves Wednesday morning and will join the team in Miami where they are playing the Florida Marlins. Vizcaino will become the first Hillcat to make his debut for Atlanta since Lynchburg became a Braves affiliate this season.
Vizcaino, 20, started the 2011 season with the Hillcats. He made nine starts with Lynchburg, going 2-2 with a 2.45 ERA. He won Carolina League Player of the Week for the week of May 9-15 after pitching seven shutout innings in a win against Myrtle Beach. After his start on May 23 against Winston-Salem, where he pitched seven shutout innings in a no-decision, Vizcaino was called up to Double-A Mississippi.
Vizcaino spent nearly two months with Mississippi, compiling a 2-3 record with a 3.81 ERA, before moving up to Triple-A Gwinnett on July 24. He was moved to the bullpen there, and made six appearances with a 1.29 ERA.
At 20-years old, Vizcaino will become the youngest player on the Braves current roster, over a year younger than the previous youngest, Freddie Freeman.
