
Vipers Stay Unbeaten With Win Over Flash

Smush Parker scored a team-high 26 points and the Vipers never trailed as they defeated the Utah Flash 106-98 on Saturday night at Dodge Arena. The Vipers are still unbeaten after back-to-back wins on Friday and Saturday. The Vipers started the 07-08 season with a 2-0 start at home as well.
The Vipers got out to a quick start on Utah as they began the game on a 19-4 run. The Vipers ran their lead to 28-10 to end the first quarter. Despite leading by as many as 29 points, the Flash climbed their way back to pull to within single digits late in the fourth quarter but could not complete the rally.
Six Vipers scored in double-figures. Alton Ford had a breakout game for Rio Grande Valley as he tallied 14 points and hauled in nine rebounds. Delonte Holland was solid off the bench for RGV as dropped 12 points in 20 minutes of action.
Boston Celtics assignee Bill Walker led the way for Utah with 27 points. His fellow assignee J.R Giddens tallied 19 points with 15 coming in the second half.
The Vipers continue their season opening eight game home stand on Wednesday night when the host the expansion Erie Bayhawks at Dodge Arena with a 7:00 pm tip-off.
