
Energy Stay Unbeaten with 106-103 Win

BISMARCK, ND, Nov. 29, 2008 - For the second night in a row, the Iowa Energy saved their best for last. Down by eight points heading into the 4th quarter, the Energy used timely 3-point shooting to defeat the Dakota Wizards 106-103 in Bismarck, ND. The win moves the Energy to the top of the Central Division with a 2-0 record.
Courtney Sims led the Energy with 23 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocked shots. First round pick Cartier Martin added 17 points and 8 rebounds, including several clutch shots that were key to the victory.
Down by six with 4:40 remaining in the game, Martin hit a 3-pointer to draw the Energy to within three. Energy guard Larry Ayuso knotted the score on the next possession with a 3-pointer of his own.
Minutes later, Martin struck again. Down by 1 point with less than two minutes remaining, Martin hit another 3-pointer to give the Energy a lead they wouldn't relinquish. The Energy shot 8 for 15 from 3-point land for the game, including four makes by Ayuso and three by Martin.
Former Iowa State Cyclone Curtis Stinson added 12 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists for the Energy.
